The MMF Youth Entrepreneurship Program (YEP) is aimed at youth of and between the ages of 18 to 29 who have an entrepreneurial spirit. The program will aid with skill development and financial supports to bring business ideas to life.
Metis Youth who participate in the program will be supported by the Metis Employment and Training (MET) department and the Louis Riel Capital Corporation (LRCC). Both departments have multiple employees and programs that can aid participants through the process. Together, the two departments can ensure that individuals have an exceptional experience and obtain the level of assistance necessary to get their business started.
The focus of the program will be provided by the Louis Riel Capital Corporation (LRCC). Shaun Hampton, manager of YEP, will aid participants through the process of launching a business by supporting the Business Plan development, customized guidance, and establishing the need for grant or loan financing. The Metis Employment and Training department (MET) is supporting participants with grant dollars for business related workshops or educational courses that will boost their business acumen.
The Youth Entrepreneurship Program was created to ensure that innovation and inspiration are encouraged amongst Metis youth. With this, we hope to build their futures as business owners and further Metis economic development. We look forward to seeing all that our Metis Youth have to offer. We look forward to seeing the business ideas from the Metis community. Most of all, we look forward to engaging our youth and turning their ideas into success stories.
